Cozy Christmas in Night of Navy Dazzles with Details

This is my favorite card of the season.  Whenever I think of cottages and woods at Christmas time I think of peace, the dark before the dawn of the birth of Christ, and snow.  I know it wasn't snowing, obviously, where Jesus was born, but from the time I have a memory of Christmas where I live, it has always included this white fluffy stuff.

I used the set Cozy Christmas, in fact, I acquired this set for this little cottage surrounded by pines.  I stamped in Night of Navy and then starting at the top right corner, began sponging the dark sky, with the ink becoming lighter and lighter as I moved to the opposite corner of my Christmas Eve scene.  Once I had achieved the sky I desired I added the sparkly stars using Silver Dazzling Details and then layered my image onto Night of Navy card stock and then onto my Whisper White card.  I surrounded my sentiment with sparkling rhinestones to finish off the vision in my mind.

Here's to hoping your Christmas and the week following has been magical and filled with memories. I am finding it astounding that we are on the verge of a new year, however, I wish you all the best as this upcoming time unfolds for all of you.  Resolutions, or no, 2016...here we come!!!!!!  Happy New Year's Eve:)

Baby Reindeer is Soooo Cute!!

As you may have noticed on a previous post, Made With Love (page 37 in the Annual Catalog) is one of my favorites, not only for the baby card and gift possibilities, but also for the Christmas season.  Here is that little "rein"deer again, using the Watercolor Paper, the Aqua Painters and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.  To color his bow I used the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker and then I added a smidge of the Red Dazzling Details and brushed it out with the Aqua Painter. When I colored his nose and the ornaments on the tree I also used the Dazzling Details.  So much fun! The other stamp sets I used to complete my card are Festival of Trees and Cozy Christmas. Dimensionals added that "pop" to bring the card to life:)  Enjoy your day!!  --Tammie

Bear Hugs Are All the Rage;)

When I was at the first OnStage Local, which happened to be in San Diego, California, one of the stamp sets in the new Occasions Catalog included this bear, along with a baby bear, and several other coordinating stamps.  My sister-in-law, Janice Druez, with whom I was lucky to attend this event, saw how excited I was when I WON this stamp set in one of the many Prize Patrols that day, and she informed me that she was going to give me the framelits that coordinate with this set (Bear Hugs) for my Christmas gift.  Whaatttt?  How awesome is she?!!

Naturally, I had to make her Christmas card from these things;)  I added the little bowler and the sentiment using the Black and Red Glimmer Papers available.  I put in the snow for dimension using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and of course I had to use the Woodlands embossing folder in the background.  I added the vellum for a "foggy" effect.  I am going to have lots of fun using this set and the framelits in many ways.  I can totally see birthday cards, thinking of you cards, etc. on the horizon:)  Have a great Monday!!--Tammie

Peace Be With You!

Rose Red is a color that I often forget about because we have Real Red and Watermelon Wonder as well as Cherry Cobbler.  However, this was just the right red for the peaceful emotion I wanted this card to put forth.

I hope your holidays are filled with joy, happiness and love.  I wish our world could enjoy the same.

One day it will come, I have faith.  Let's all stand together as a united world.  We can have, and must have, our differences.  It's what sets us apart, makes us unique.  But let's all respect and admire each other for that, for our beauty in being who we are.

Happy Holidays and Peace Be With You!!

Gold Foil and Sleigh Ride Edgelits Are So Awesome!!!

When I saw these edgelits waaayyy back in July, I knew when we had the preorder, they would be mine!  Unfortunately they're not carrying over, but if you're lucky you may be able to find them from someone, sometime.  I know I'll be keeping mine, though.  I can see using these for years to come as they are timeless.

My photo is lacking in quality and I apologize, but if it was better, you could see that the print is actually heat embossed, making this a beautiful addition to my holiday cards. I love simplicity, and it's even better when it makes that step up to Simplistically Elegant.

Enjoy your day and I'll see you soon.

Red Foil Adds Special Touch!

I love this Red Foil!  I thought when I ordered it that it would be "foil", but it's just the same weight as the Gold and Silver Foil Sheets in our Annual Catalog. OMG, red is my favorite color and now this is my favorite design element! When you add the#DazzlingDiamondsGlimmerPaper or the #SleighRideEdgelits or the #WoodlandTexturedImpressionsEmbossingFolder, you get everything you hoped for and a whole lot more!!  These are just a couple of examples of the fun I had yesterday as I created.
If you've followed my blog, my posts have been scant, at best, as I've been learning how to live with a new puppy and am enjoying it thoroughly.  I haven't lost my desire to stamp, it's just that priorities are #family.
I hope you've enjoyed checking out this post and look back at my other creations to just enjoy what I enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Blooming Birthday!!

Hello!  It's been forever, it seems, since I posted.

I've been a little preoccupied with our new family member.  Her name is "Tag" and she is a corker!!  She's our new puppy, born on 9/11/2015. Her given name, by Needy Paws rescuers, is Bretagne, after one of the rescue dogs involved in the rescues of the 911 attacks in New York, and given her nature we have liberally dubbed her Tag, as she willingly tags after us all day long.  She is simply adorable, so if my posts are coming sporadically, forgive me, but family is VERY important!!

My card above is my bling of all bling cards.  It's definitely over the top and I love it!!  It has glimmer, lace, glitter, shine and texture.  Can't ask for more than that!  I think my mama will love it when she opens it on her birthday;)

So, here is our little Tag.  Isn't she adorable?!  I hope to move to my creative space today to get those Christmas cards designed and made.  Wish me luck!  Have a great Monday, wherever you are stamping!--Tammie

Thank You is Simple, Yet Elegant!!

One of the most important ways to show appreciation for something someone has done for you is to send a simple thank you.  What better way to make that "Thank You" even more special than by sending a hand-stamped card?  The bottom card I see as an elegant event thanks, and of course, with the holly embossing around the edge of the top card, I was thinking Christmas thanks.  So if you need some simple, yet personal cards to make and send, consider something like this!

Have fun, avoid stress like the plague and enjoy your holiday!

#NontraditionalChristmasColor #CrushedCurry #DazzlingDiamonds #GlimmerPaper #Penguin

You know how sometimes you only want to hide away in your craft area and create or copy something new? That's exactly how this little penguin came to be:)  I used the Owl Builder Punch and the Large Oval Punch, as well as the Oval Punch.

I layered the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper strips using the Dimensionals on the lower one.

I couldn't find the right "Merry Christmas" stamp, although I know I had plenty of options with all of my stamps on the shelf, but none of them were saying, "pick me, pick me".
So I cut the merry from one of our past framelits, masked off the happy from our stamp set, 'Oh, What Fun' in the Holiday Catalog and that was just the ticket!!

I hope wherever you are, on this Black Friday that you're staying warm, dry and most of all...happy:)

#HappyThanksgiving

I was getting ready for my vendor fair in October and I was going through some boxes of cards from the past.  What a trip down memory lane!

I found this scare crow and the memories just starting flooding back like wild.

I did not come up with this idea, but I definitely enjoyed making it every step of the way.  Thank you to the demonstrator from years gone by for your creativity and imagination.  I wish I knew who you were because you deserve all the credit for this one!

I love it when punches can be repurposed, like the bird punch, using the wings for the eyes, and the large oval for the mouth.  Oh, and how about the hearts for the crows feet and the circle for the beaks.

I love sponging to add dimension and texture and there is a LOT of that on this card!  The background was made using the crimper we used to sell.  Sure wish we had that tool in the catalog still.  Sponging with Whisper White Craft Ink gave that piece of blue cardstock the look of an old tin building.

Looking at this card and enjoying it like it was a new creation again just makes my heart smile. I'm definitely going to have to get more "artsy" again.  So much fun!!!!

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and all your holiday wishes and dreams come true!

#NewFriends, #CenterStage, #OnStage

These 3 cards are swaps made by another demonstrator.  I had already swapped all of mine, so I could only "pixel" these.  Aren't they adorable?!

I was so fortunate to get to listen to Bonnie Farley give a presentation at my first CenterStage Event.  I love her to the moon and back and will always search her out to hear her "lectures".

Swaps made by other demonstrators that were on the board at OnStage Local in San Diego, CA.  Simply gorgeous!!!

A Little Stampin' Therapy Does A Lot of Good!

Ahhh, after a fun-filled, yet hectic weekend at our first Onstage Local event Jan and I were able to sit and create some cards for our new and dear Stampin' Sista, Chockie Simons.

I have to say, I completely enjoyed Center Stage with Bonnie Farley.  I met some great gals, had some yummy food and learned several things I will bring into my business.

I loved the way Stampin Up! introduced new tools to us and then gave us the opportunity to "play" with those cool tools!

I will soon be able to share all of this with you😆  Stay tuned for some incredible stampin' magic!

Til then, create away😊

Curvy Keepsake "Book To Look" Boxes

These are my "book to look" creations for this time around.  I found the ideas on Pinterest and went from there.  I love the black glimmer paper as well as all of the other options we have!

I've put prize notes on the bottom of these cute little Curvy Keepsake boxes that can be peeled off so the recipient can use these boxes for "whatever" they want.

To make the snowman hats I used my circle framelit (2 3/4") to cut the black Glimmer Paper and then punched out the center of the circle with the Word Window Punch.  I cut 2 pieces of Black Card Stock (for each snowman) that was 2 1/2" X 2" and scored up 1/2" from the bottom--this was how I attached the brim to the "stovepipe" portion of the hat.  Then I rounded the top corners and glued the sides and top together with multipurpose adhesive.  You'll want to avoid gluing the "whole" top as you need a place for the box handle to slide into the hat so it will sit on the snowman's head.  Finally I embellished with a red glimmer paper heart and 1/8" red striped ribbon.  The circles and the heart are punched using the Owl Builder Punch and I freehanded the carrot nose.  I added the eyelashes with the black Stampin' Write Marker and the eye reflections with the Chalk Marker.

Looking forward to sharing this craft with some newbies!!
More pix to follow after the event today;)

Vendor Fair # 3

I'm preparing for my third vendor event this year and am really excited about this one.  I was excited about the others, but with this one I feel I have learned a lot from those previously and am ready to bring my handmade items to the show.  Here is a sneak peak of some of my adventures in creating this week:

Don't you just love the bundle in the Holiday Catalog, which includes the stamp set, Snow Place, and the framelits, Snow Friends?  So adorable and I know the most perfect project my granddaughter, Madeleine, and I are going to make;)

I want to give a special thanks to Tana McLaird who has graciously offered to lend her home for this event. Tana is a Premier Jewelry Consultant and I'm looking forward to working with her to make this a successful event.  I'll also be joined by consultants from Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Cabi, A Wreath for Every Door, Young Living, Rodan + Fields, and more.  YOU SHOULD COME AND CHECK US OUT!!

The address is: 361 Mission Bay Court  in Wildwood, MO.

I also want to say thank you to Dawn Griffith, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator whom I have admired for quite some time, who was generous in sharing the instructions for these cute little scarecrow Curvy Keepsake Boxes.

I'll be back in the next day or so to share more of my creations.  Until then, have a wonderful evening and I'll see you soon!

Veteran's Thank You Card

I was fortunate this past summer to participate in my first Honor Flight Ceremony at the Lambert Airport here in St. Louis.

Veterans from WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam were welcomed home from a day full of activities that started in the wee hours of the morning with their flight to Washington, DC to take part in a celebration of their service to our country and ended with a show of admiration and love as these women and men returned home to the St. Louis area.

This past week I was honored with a request to write a letter to Rich Cotter, a veteran of the United States Navy, who served in Vietnam.

To all of our service men and women worldwide, I thank you for your time, your service and your sacrifice, for without doing what you do and have done, I would not be doing what I do.

A special thank you to my father, brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law and many many relatives and friends who have served and are serving.  I respect you and admire I you.

Green and Gold Wins!!

As you know from reading previous posts on my blog, stamping is one of the ways I find peace in my life.

As a result of that, bringing stamping to others is very rewarding for me.  Helping people learn that life is about "the moment" and not about "getting to the moment" is an ongoing goal of mine.

I remember the past and living day to day, making sure the girls had what they needed, that my husband had what he needed and that all was well.  I think I got so caught up in moving forward that I often forgot to enjoy those precious moments that are there but for a brief time.  So easy to do...

This past weekend I had my Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack and we had a glorious time!  Every time a group of stampers gets together great memories are made, conversations are had, and things are accomplished.

I took a poll at our event
to find out which card was everyone's favorite.  The card with green and gold took the majority vote. Let me know what YOU think and if you want measurements, etc., contact me and I'll be happy to give those to you:)  Happy stamping!--Tammie

Vendor Fair Number Two

I just completed my second Vendor Fair since I have re-energized my business in St. Louis.  I had the best time visiting with my fellow vendors, sold some cards, bought some jewelry, and had another experience in this vendor puzzle.  As I continue on this journey of vending I learn more and more about the shoulds and should-nots.  I was spot on in not bringing too much merchandise or samples and I was surprisingly happy about how everyone loved my craft.

I will continue bringing my craft to the surrounding communities of St. Louis.  So much to share and time to do it!!

Time(?), you say...

Yes, time...We all make time for the things that are important to us.

I love what I do...

Have a great weekend!

Bling is the Name of the Game...Again!!

So my post a couple of days ago was using this same stamp set, same punch and same edgelits and color scheme, but I just twisted it up a bit:)  I do A LOT of cards at Christmas time and so they need to be simple, which is what I'm representing in the first card.  I added the DSP, Season of Cheer, to the second card to amp it up a bit.  Both cards are easy peasy, but I really like the way they came out. Fancy does not always have to be complicated!

Silver Bling with Mint Macaron is Serene

I am definitely loving the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits, as you can see. They coordinate not only with the Embellished Ornaments set, but also with Lots of Joy in the Annual Catalog (pg 69).

...and have you had the opportunity to use the Curvy Corner Trio Punch in the Holiday Catalog (pg 18)?  So easy and adds such elegance!

Bling is one of my favorite things when making cards or any other paper craft.  Glimmer and rhinestones are just the right addition, with that in mind!!

Have fun creating your cards today using these items.   They'll quickly become your favorites, too...I have no doubt;)

Christmas, Baby...You Choose

I had seen a card on Pinterest using this cute little deer on a Christmas card and I put that stamp set on my wishlist because I loved that card so much!  A few weeks later I purchased this set, which incidentally, is a 'new baby' set, and I began to create.  I love this little guy and have had a lot of fun imagining how he will look as I begin coloring with my ink pad and aqua painter.   He needed some shine on his nose and bow so I used our new Fine Tip Glue Pen and it worked like a charm!
What do you think, Christmas...or...baby...?

With all the supplies at your fingertips (or waiting to be ordered;), you can make either.

Have fun designing, imagining and creating.
