Window Sheet Tent Card

Every month my upline and her team hold our monthly meetings, of which I am usually unable to attend, due to distance between us.  However, Meg Loven makes a video and shares it with all of her team and I just love still being a part of the group this way.  Being there is definitely "The Bomb", but this is as close to a second that I could possibly get!

Mary Ellen showed us how to make a Window Sheet Tent Card and I decided to venture out and create one of my own.  This is what I came up with...
I made this card for a "future" bride whose aunts were throwing her a shower and this, including a gift certificate from Yours Truly would be included. One of the bride's aunts is actually a close friend of mine and her mother knows that her sister/my friend loves to stamp and makes BEAUTIFUL cards herself, so she loves giving her the gift of Stampin' Up!

I initially knew I wanted the houses and the church since this was a bridal shower card, but I had no idea I would add the butterflies.  Once I added the Delicate Lace Edgelit to the top of my card it just seemed to scream butterflies.  What better way to add them but to get out my Botanical Butterfly DSP, which is a free SaleABration item (which goes away after today), my Stampin' Write Markers and my Butterfly Duet Punch which is included in the Butterfly Gala Bundle in our Occasions Catalog---page 35.

You can see a side view of my card here showing the tenting that is created with scoring.  So pretty!  Thank you for sharing this idea Mary Ellen Stites!  I love this card and I look forward to making many more using all my other lovely items I've found in our Occasions Catalog.

I Saw This Stamp Set One Way...Then I Saw it This Way...

If you've ever gone to a Stampin' Up! party you probably thought, "I want everything I see!"  Knowing that normally that's NOT possible, you do the next best thing...  You get some of what you want and then the rest goes on your wish list.  Over my almost 14 years of being a demonstrator, and for the 3 years prior to that as an avid customer and collector of all things Stampin' Up!  I've made several wish lists!

Without exception the card I'm showing you today was a product of my most recent Occasions Catalog Wish List.  Artfully Aware is a beautiful set and when I first envisioned my projects using this set my mind went to cancer.  As I sat down to create my project my mind took a different turn, though.  I, and several people I love are affected by anxiety and depression.  The struggle is real for all of us and there are so many others in my world that are going through this struggle, but are afraid to reveal their deep secret.  With this in mind my card was born and with sincerity I bring you into my world and hope you are able to relate and enjoy my creativity.  With much admiration and respect, have a nice Friday and I'll see you next time.

Country Floral...Can't Get Enough

I am in awe of all the different artwork that has popped up with the Country Floral Embossing Folder as the main event.  With the all new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog on the horizon I'm super excited to see what new folders are in store!  Always a good thing to anticipate, right?!

My design with this card came from a little boo-boo that I just couldn't live with and when I make a mistake I try to look at a way I can do it differently so I don't waste some perfectly good card stock.  Let's just say, "it's an opportunity" for something creatively different ๐Ÿ˜

I had embossed my Whisper White card stock and then I had colored the center rose with my Blends.  I didn't really like the way it looked so I just started coloring the whole piece, some with the light and some with the dark Stampin' Blend.  After I finished the coloring I added Wink of Stella to all the flowers to make them pop with some pizzazz.

With all the ideas floating around out there in Cyber Land I look forward to absorbing ideas and mixing them to come up with some other totally cool ways to use this Country Floral Embossing Folder!

Country Floral with Foil

I've seen a few projects done using the different Foil Card Stock colors and I chose to use the champagne on this card.  Ooooh!  So pretty!  Thanks to all the creative people who share their ideas and inspire me to step out of my comfort box.  Thanks, also, Stampin' Up! for creating this lovely embossing folder.  The depth and dimension it has are astounding.  There is no way to go wrong choosing the complimentary card stock for your projects with such a beautiful piece of art.  I chose Calypso Coral because it just felt right at the moment.  Who knows what the next moment will bring or feel like.  I guess I'll see next time I head into my stamping haven.
The Stitched Labels Framelits provide the right elegance to enhance those beautiful spring flowers in the background and the pop of the colored rhinestones were a great finishing touch.  I colored them using our Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend marker.

Oh, and to adhere the embossed foil to the card base I wanted to make sure that all of the edges remained flat so I went with the Tear and Tape.  I did the same with the strip of Calypso Coral across the midsection of my card.  I popped the sentiment piece up with 3 dimensionals and my card was done.

Simple, but doesn't look simple.  Now that's a WIN!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

I'll see you next time:)

This Makes Me Feel Like Spring!!

When I sat down today I had a different plan than what actually came to be.  I DID want to use the Country Floral Embossing Folder and some Foil Card Stock, but that was all.  Then this emerged.
Amazing how that happens!  I wanted a background card base that would let the embossed Champagne Foil stand out, so Crumb Cake was my ultimate choice.  I had originally cut a bigger piece of the foil, but when I started listening to my creative self I heard Sweet Storybook calling my name.  Once that happened I immediately had to add the DSP, Painted Seasons.  I am totally enamored with this particular piece with the cute toadstools and the awesome colors!  I added a splash of "something" to complete my background using the Gallery Grunge stamp with the herringbone wood.  As for the sentiment, you choose the one you like.  This was my pick๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Happy Spring everyone, and thank you #StampinUp for making this all possible!  Have a great Friday!

Home to Roost

I'm not really sure why I like roosters.  Is it their strut?  Perhaps it's their bold personalities?  Or maybe it's the colors that some of them have, especially in exotic places like The Road to Hana.  Who knows.  Just suffice it to say...I like roosters.  So the pick for one of my SaleABration freebies was a simple one...Home to Roost.

I was thinking of a simple, but hopefully WOW swap I'll do with my team at our upcoming meeting and this is what I came up with.
I really wanted simplistic.  And...I wanted to make a statement...all at the same time.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker and a couple of pieces of the black and white gingham check DSP from another SAB free offer, The Botanical Butterfly DSP.  You can add any sentiment to this card and it would work.  I happened to use one from the Well Said Bundle in the Occasions Catalog.  Love, love, love that bundle.  You really do need it in your stash!!!  Just sayin' ๐Ÿ˜‰

All Geared Up for My Husband

A couple of weeks ago my husband I were having a bit of bad luck in the health area of our lives.  He was in the hospital and I succumbed to a fall which ended in a broken leg.  I really wondered at one point "what the hell?"  We've been having some undo stress for the last couple of years anyway and now this?  Gees Louise~needing a break here!

As life would have it I gained my senses and realized that for me personally I knew this was just another opportunity in life to learn patience.  Another journey.  Fine, fine.  I need to just go with it.  I cannot say I was exactly gracious in accepting this new found adventure, however.

BUT, I do have a patient hubby and I have received immeasurable help from him, as he continues to recover himself, as I go through my day to day process of being as productive as I possibly can, while being limited in how I can move.

To pay homage to Bob, here's the card I came up with to show my appreciation for all he is and all he does.
I love the Geared Up Garage bundle in the Occasions catalog!  It's definitely masculine and I can envision several ways to use the elements in both the stamp set and the framelits set.  This is my first card using this bundle and I'm looking forward to my next project, which I believe will be for my teenage grandson as he is getting closer and closer to that coveted driver's license event ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you'd like to know measurements and supplies used I'd be happy to share this info with you.  Just shoot me a message and we'll talk.

Have a great day!

#SimpleStamping

Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are being challenged this month with a #simplestampingproject using only a stamp, ink, paper and ribbon and the sentiment is either for new baby, wedding or funeral. Here’s my project. I used Petal Pink and Soft Seafoam ink as well as card stock, the Little Twinkle stamp, and the Braided Linen Trim. How’d I do?
