Positive Thoughts for Friends Like You

                                       by Tammie Rundle

As I thought about this card and what the theme would be I concluded that it would be bright, happy and representative of how I feel about stamping, about my friends and about bringing this joy to all I know.

To bring these thoughts to fruition I chose to have a white background that would really make the colors I chose POP off the card. I also wanted to give some beauty to the “plain” background, so I brought in the gorgeous embossing folder, Parisian Flourish.

This card is simple, yet elegant. It showcases that everyone can make this card, or their version of this card, based upon what supplies they have on hand.

In conclusion, have fun making your card. Make it your own and when you’re finished, send your card and brighten someone’s day.

Below you’ll find my recipe including ingredients and measurements…

Shower Candy Bags

In a few short days we will celebrate, with a shower, our youngest daughter's upcoming birth of our sixth grandchild. Our baby's having a baby! We are elated and planning this event has been a labor of love.

We stopped by Crown's Candy Kitchen, here in St. Louis, to check out their chocolates. Oh my! Delicious!! I'm really looking forward to sharing this delectable delight with our guests as we prepare to welcome our new granddaughter soon.

With the exception of the inks and cardstock (and the pearls), I think almost everything I used has retired (some of it several years ago...gasp!), but no worries...retired is FINE! I remember in the past I shuddered at the amount of products I had on hand that were retiring, and I just sighed. Now I get so excited as I explore those things I'd forgotten I even had. And guess what. They're all relevant! And so fun! I actually used this stamp set for my granddaughter, Julia's, shower invitation. She's 13, now๐Ÿ˜€

I guess the point of this post is to share my joy of my new grandchild and to reinforce that retired stuff is awesome and definitely serves a wonderful purpose. So with that, I'll ask you. Do you have retired things that are just sitting there waiting to be used? Then DO IT! Use it and celebrate as you do!!

So Succulent Thanks

This card is so fun to make and using 3 of our "green" inks was very gratifying. Water painting, for me, is very soothing and these pens make it so easy.

Cut Soft Seafoam Cardstock to 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/2".

Cut Very Vanilla Cardstock to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and run through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine using the beautiful background die from the Simply Succulents Bundle (Potted Succulents).

Stamp "Thanks" on a scrap of Soft Seafoam Cardstock and cut with die.

Stamp the pot and the large succulent arrangement on the Fluid Watercolor Paper, color each, using the Water Painters and re-stamp to give your images definition prior to removing the images from the Stamparatus.

Adhere all, as desired. I used Dimensionals and Stampin' Seal.

A Simply Succulent Card for You

I grow, and love, succulents! They're easy, no pressure plants that tolerate being left alone very well. When I saw this bundle in the 2021 Spring Mini, in addition to the subject matter, the artwork of these stamps and dies is wonderful! As I viewed different interpretations using these stamps on Pinterest and in the FB Demonstrator Planning Place, I really loved the opportunity to color, if I wanted. In the past I would have used my Aqua Painters. Now, with their replacement, I was able to use my Water Painters. Oh, how I love this option!

The layering of the pieces really brings to life the plants and the area surrounding them.

The sentiment stamps in this set are just as lovely. This stamp set spoke to me on so many levels.

...A little bit of background on my color choices for my card...

I'm frequently asked how I come up with my card ideas, the colors I use, etc. As mentioned previously, I check out social media sites and when I haven't found what is in my wheelhouse of possibilities I just ask myself..."what color have you NOT used in awhile?" I pick it, and I'm off to the races.

As you can tell, Soft Sea Foam has taken a break from my hobby, so it was THE WINNER! To compliment SSF I chose Pear Pizzazz and to accent I used Cajun Craze.

Check out my supply list below for the components and tools I used for this project.
