To a Wild Rose

To a Wild Rose
Designed by Tammie Rundle

The focus of my card is on the friendships we’ve made in our lives.  This is what helps define our characters, what gives us purpose, and what we all need to get through some of life’s tough times that are thrown on us.  What we as a world are going through right now with the unknown of this Covid-19 virus has shaken us to our cores, the very center of our beings.  It has caused us all to take a closer look at our lives and to reevaluate how we can change to adapt to our new norm.  It seems it would be really easy to look at all the bad aspects and allow them to rule how we move forward.
This is where I choose to dig my heels in and refuse to make it that easy for this nuisance, albeit scary nuisance of a virus to control me that way.  I will continue to learn from all that has happened and what will continue to happen, but I will not be a victim of hopelessness.  I’ve lived through too much to let this thing take my soul down.
So, in the spirit of looking for the good, I present to you my project for today.  Below is a list of supplies you will need to recreate this card, and feel free to change it up in any way you choose.  After all, one of the beauties of stamping is we can all use an idea and CASE it exactly as it’s shown, or we can make it our own.  We can use different stamps, different colors, different card stocks and papers.  We can add or delete embellishments and techniques as WE choose.
Oh, and when something happens, say, some ink just randomly shows up where it was unexpected, we can look at that as an opportunity to change things up a bit.

Adorable Little Ladybug

This adorable "Little Ladybug" is a perfect addition to my forever stash of stamp sets.  It's available when you host a qualifying party from now through March 31st of this year.  There are so many ways to use this set.  I'm showcasing an example of an appreciation bookmark I made for my friends that partied with me and enabled me to expand my collection.  The different components of this bookmark are "mostly" current.  The red Glimmer Paper and the tasseled trim are from our Holiday Catalog that just retired, but everything else is available to you.  Now is the perfect time for you to gather your friends in a virtual way, which is really the only way we can get together right now, and host your catalog party.
Let me know what you think about my project and let's get your party scheduled today.  There's something so satisfying about stamping.  It helps to lay those feelings of helplessness aside.  It gives hope and in the meantime you can create something you can share with those around you.  In these times of uncertainty and sadness keep the positive flame burning and enjoy yourself as you craft.
Take care๐Ÿ’•

Well Dressed and Fussy Cut

One of my pet peeves in life is to do tedious things.  With that being said, when I started on this Stampin’ Up! journey in 2005 as a demonstrator (I was a customer from 2003 until July of 2005) I was introduced to “fussy cutting” and I instantly knew “this was NOT for me”.  At least that’s what I thought.  As time passed, I did a little of this fussy cutting and realized it wasn’t too bad.  The end result was far more enjoyable to look at than was the tediousness of cutting out my pieces bothersome, for a swap that I was doing.  Does that make sense?  And as more time passed, I noticed a calmness coming over me when I sat down to cut pieces out for my projects I was working on.
Now, don’t get me wrong…when I was introduced in 2008 to the Big Shot I whooped and hollered as loud as the next demonstrator with excitement that I could increase my production of pieces while decreasing my time spent on the like, and that remains the truth to this day.  But I really do enjoy taking my time, sometimes, to just take a breath and start cutting.  It gives my mind time to clear from the stressors of the day and I feel relaxed when I’m finished.
My card I’m sharing today is using the technique of fussy cutting and I really like the way my stamped images have that little bit of “pop” on my card.  I glued everything with the Multipurpose Adhesive and the only colors used are Night of Navy and Whisper White.
This card, using Well Dressed, is simple and can be used for a man OR a woman.  Not to mention, you can change the colors to anything your heart desires.  This stamp set is new this month as a FREE set with your qualifying purchase during SaleABration (SAB).  Be sure to pick it up soon!  When SABs over, it’s gone.

If you zoom into the image on the back you can see my personalized message to my recipient
As always, enjoy your day and Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday to You

My post today is featuring one of our FREE choices we get to make when we place a qualifying order during SaleABration.  This fun cake is the perfect opportunity to wish that special person in your life “Happy Birthday” and you can customize it in any color(s) you want.  I chose the purples I have in my pallet, and I can easily change it up to any other color in the rainbow.

I amped up my card using the Wink of Stella Pen and the Fine Tip Glue Pen to bring in some bling and shine.  I was able to get my different depths of color by going over my first coat of color with a second and a third, depending on how deeply I wanted my purple to be.  I used both the Stampin’ Write markers and the Stampin’ Blends.

You know, receiving a card in the mail has long been something that everyone, I know, enjoys.  The cards we get from different stores are great, but it’s the handmade cards that, for many of us, touch our hearts the deepest.  I think the fact that someone took the time to make this card “just for me” speaks worlds about the relationship we share with those special people in our lives.

When is the last (or first) time you sent a “made from the heart” card to someone you care about?  Perhaps today would be a good time to do it.

Not sure where to start?  Please contact me and I’ll help you do just that.  Let today be the day you make a change.  Seems that with what’s going on in the world today, this would be a sweet thing to do to make your world a better place.
Happy stamping!

Under My Umbrella

If you saw my earlier post using the bundle Under My Umbrella, you saw that beautiful rainbow DSP, and as mentioned before, our coordinating DSP ‘Pleased as Punch’, goes with so many of our stamps in the Spring Mini catalog.  Not to mention, it also coordinates with our tools and in this instance the punch that’s included in the bundle.  How cute is that print on the umbrella?!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this DSP!  Oh, how I adore simplicity especially when it’s beautiful!  Anything that can make my life easier, bring it on!
I used many of the same tools and embellishments on this card, and the look is very different.  I obviously changed up the complimentary color to Calypso Coral for a bit of pep and I popped on the flowers from Flower Faceted Gems to get that added interest and texture.
How lucky am I that I have these things in my wheelhouse?!  I love being part of this fabulous company, Stampin’ Up!  Such creativity abounds and I know for sure that my life has been forever changed because of it.

Rainbow Umbrella

There's always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, right...every cloud has a silver lining, right?  With the crisis of an uncontrolled virus that's infecting the world around us, we must remain positive that #Covid19 will be halted and we will somehow learn how to contain it in a way that will return our freedoms.  I'm sure there will be so much learned from all of this chaos, so at least there's that.

While all of the leaders of our world are working to figure out how to change the way we do things to make our world healthier and to, in some way, bring this all back to a manageable level, I'm choosing to find a way to keep my spirit positive.  I've always turned to my stamping to help de-stress, and once again,  this is my go to therapy.
I'm in love with the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP), Pleased as Punch (item# 153558) that goes with many of our Spring Mini Catalog offerings.  The rainbow paper just elevates my umbrella and boots from the Under My Umbrella bundle (item# 153786).  To add depth and texture to my card I've embossed with Parisian Beauty folder (item# 151474) and layered my umbrella and boots on my DSP and Sparkle Glimmer Paper cut with our Stitched Rectangle framelits (item# 148551).

Have a lovely day in your neighborhood and find a way to de-stress so this doesn't drive you to madness.  Stamping is a lovely way to do this.  Enjoy and smile!  We WILL get through this!!!

Retired Product is Completely Relevant

As a demonstrator I typically use current product since it’s what I can sell.  Recently, I’ve been having a blast going to my retired stashes, because they are completely relevant and this gives my projects the versatility that I crave.  How many times have you looked for something to use on a card and then realized that “awe, that’s retired”?  Not a problem.  Make your project with confidence, and then change it up using current product, if you so desire, to help your friends see how versatile our choices are.

In my card I’ve used the retired stamp set, Stylin’ Girl and the retired Designer Series Papers in the Brights and Subtles assortments, but hey, this is so easy to change up to current offerings, so don’t be afraid to use what you have!

In my product list you’ll find some of the things I’ve used to create my cards, and this is just a sampling of what you can find.  Use your imagination and be creative, have fun, and make something you love.  Go with confidence and follow your ❤️
