Poinsettia Petals in Silver

How often have you thought and thought about how you wanted to do a card design and NOTHING came to mind…no matter how much time had passed? Sometimes the ideas come fast and furious and at other times I feel like I’m in a design drought. Arghhhh!

I knew which stamp sets I wanted to use. I knew I wanted my card to be elegant. That’s all I knew and yet NOTHING.

So, I said to myself, Tammie, just go start doing something and it will come. Guess what, that voice was absolutely correct. I started getting different elements out and in no time things started coming together.

This is my card and I’m in love! I’ve created this card for my first in-person Club party, since February. I’m taking all precautions that I know to keep my ladies safe. We’ll do distancing, hand sanitizer, cleaning, masking…whatever it takes to move on in this new way of doing things since the dreaded virus has seemingly tried to take over our world. The stamp I’m using is from Poinsettia Petals. I’m using the bundle because, why wouldn’t I?! The sentiment is really the only thing we’ll stamp, as I’m using the dies to cut and emboss the silver poinsettia.

In keeping with my desire to make this elegant, I used the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Whisper White cardstock layered with Feels Like Frost DSP and Vellum and then accented with the Beaded Pearls, as well as some of our Basic Pearl elements.

I stamped in blue with Seaside Spray, and then added an inner sentiment with an additional stamp from For Unto Us.

The stitched rectangle dies were the perfect way to cut everything, bringing my theme of elegance to the forefront.

I appreciate your time in coming to my blog to check out my projects! Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Have a great day!

Supplies

Stamps-Poinsettia Petals, For Unto Us

Card Stock-Thick Whisper White- 5 ½” X 8 ½”, 1 ¾” X 2 ¾” (unless you use the stitched rectangle die, then cut a little bigger)

-Vellum- 2 5/8” X 4” (unless you used the stitched rectangle die, then cut a little bigger)

Specialty Paper- Feel Like Frost DSP- 3 ¾” X 5 1/8” (if you’re using the stitched rectangle die, cut bigger and use the largest die)

-Silver Foil- 3 ½” X 3 ½”- use the largest petal die and coordinating embossing die and run through the machine together to cut poinsettia flower

Ink- Seaside Spray

Embellishments- Beaded Pearls (1) and Basic Pearls (3), Metallic Mesh Ribbon- 5”

Adhesives- Stampin’ Seal, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue

Layer your card elements without adhering them, yet. Adhere the DSP to the center of your card front using Stampin’ Seal. Then figure out the position where you want your poinsettia on your vellum piece. Then place your ribbon and adhere the poinsettia on top using a dimensional in the center of the flower. Once the flower is adhered to vellum, turn vellum over and place remaining dimensionals where the petals of the poinsettia will cover them. Now adhere the vellum piece to your DSP.

Stamp your card front sentiment on the piece of Whisper White and using the Multipurpose glue, apply the glue to the upper left corner of that piece and adhere it to the vellum.

Finish your card by adding your Beaded Pearl to your flower and the Basic Pearls as desired.

Add an inner sentiment, if you wish.
