Rococo Rose and Forever Flourishing Christmas

As you've probably noticed with some of my previous posts, I'm enjoying making cards that are non-traditional, regarding color, for Christmas this year. I went a bit further with this card, using the Forever Flourishing Dies for my tree. I chose Rococo Rose solely based on the fact that I LOVE THIS COLOR, but have not used it much at all.  Reason? Unknown. With that, with just starting a project with a color that I hadn't had much experience with, it seemed to open up an avenue of creativity that was very liberating.

Once I landed on Rococo Rose I decided to go rogue with my Christmas tree and I chose a leaf design from the Forever Flourishing Dies. I cut several sets of leaves and then cut and glued to get my desired full tree. The color for my tree (Mossy Meadow), although fairly traditional, was chosen because of the great color coordination between it and the rose. This particular set of leaves leant the opportunity to add some gold "garland" with the Gold Metallic Trim that is part of a combo pack, Forever Greenery. Of course, after adding the garland I then needed to add some spectacular Christmas balls. What better way to do this, but to use the Gilded Gems (that are GOLD!)?! To accent the tree, in all its glory, I took my Rococo Rose Background, cut it with my Stitched Rectangle Die and then embossed it with my Old World Paper Embossing Folder. I used my new Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, which is absolutely amazing. If you don't have your own die cutting, embossing machine, you should definitely check this one out! It's quiet, precise, and cuts like butter!

The final touches for my card were the Stitched Oval base for the tree. I stamped on with Early Espresso ink on Soft Suede Cardstock, using the feather stamp in Cherish the Season and a Christmas cardinal flying in to land in my tree of leaves. My sentiment, Thinking of You This Season, is from Winter Woods, stamped in Early Espresso and cut, again, using my Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project. Have a wonderful day and an even better Holiday Season!
