This Snowman is Classic

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my version of a classic snowman card designed by another Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Her blog address is bluedahliadesigns.blogspot.com and I have loved this guy since I saw him the very first time a few years back.

The original design was slightly different and several of the tools and embellishments she used to make her guy have since retired so I put my own twist on her creativity, with current products from our Stampin' Up! line.

I'd love to hear what you think about him, and if you create your own snowman, I'd love to see him!

Just comment below and share your pix!  CASEing is completely allowed because it keeps those creative juices flowing and from that new ideas are born!

Supplies:

Stamp set: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Garden Green

Punches: Circle-1 3/4" and 1 3/8"; Corner Rounder (oops! I used to Project Life one, but you can use the one on the Envelope Punch Board); 1/8" handheld; Cookie Cutter Builder

Cardstock: Thick Whisper White cut to 4" X 5 1/4" for background; Whisper White cut 2" X 4" for                       punching your snowman; Whisper White cut 1/2" X 1" for your tag

Basic Black cut 3"X 2" for your arms, eyes, buttons and hat (use the Cookie Cutter                               punch to cut hat.  You'll need to trim a bit off the bottom to give it the curve on the brim                       of the hat). I used the Pretty Pines thinlits to cut his arms and then cut off the additional                       branches using my snips. The buttons and eyes all came from the Cookie Cutter punch

Pumpkin Pie cut 1/2" X 1" for his nose

Real Red cut 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" for card base, 2" X 1/2" (2 pieces for his scarf) and 1/4" X                       4" to punch his hat ribbon (I used the Cookie Cutter punch to cut the ribbon so it had the                     same angles to fit the hat) and gift bow and to cut his gift ribbon

Garden Green: use scrap to cut pine boughs for hat decor

Specialty Papers: Be Merry Designer Series Paper cut 1" X 1 1/4" for gift

Red Glimmer paper- use scrap to punch decorative balls for gift and hat

                             Dazzling Diamonds
Tools: Pretty Pines Thinlits used to cut the pine boughs on hat

Paper Snips to curve to glimmer paper for a snowy look

Embellishments: White Thick Baker's Twine cut 3" and trimmed after tied through the sentiment tag

Rhinestones: I used the smallest ones for just a hint of bling

Adhesives: Glue Dots to adhere the red glimmer balls and the green pine boughs

Dimensionals to pop the Diamonds glimmer paper up as well as the tag and the gift

Multipurpose Glue to do the fine adhering

                   Fast Fuse for everything else

Let me know if you have any questions.  I am happy to help!

Paper Pumpkin Follow Up

Wow!  So the kit I photographed in my last post became available for sale yesterday, outside the normal parameters of the "paper pumpkin rules".  Unfortunately for many interested in getting ahold of this kit it sold out in less than 30 minutes.

On the upside of that info, there is still time to get in on the excitement with the next kit, which promises to be as exciting as this one.  Can't wait to see it!

Just head over to Paper Pumpkin and get started with your subscription so you don't miss out on the excitement!

Watch the video below and see for yourself the fun you could be having!  Then head to Paper Pumpkin and get started 😊

Carols of Christmas in Navy

When I think of Christmas colors, the automatic for me is to conjure up something in red and green, but it gets so redundant...and to an extent, boring.

Not that I don't appreciate tradition.  I really do and on any given day when I see red and green at Christmas time, I'm absolutely fine with that combination.

However, there is way more to Christmas decorating than those 2 colors.  I do love the navy and white combination, too.  Navy is such a peaceful and calm addition to the whole holiday theme.  What do you think?

This bundle that I'm using in my post today is so versatile.  If you look further back on my blog to some previous posts, you'll see a similar card and some totally different ideas using this same bundle.

I'll list below the ingredients to this card if you'd like to CASE it.  If you'd like to comment on what you think I'd appreciate it! Have a great day:)

Stamps: Carols of Christmas (146037-CM Bundle, 146036-WM Bundle), Star of Light (142110)

Contemplation Equals Kindness and Understanding

I was contemplating my next project and decided upon something to send to someone I love so dearly.  She's really struggling right now with a health issue and along with her in her struggle are her son and daughter and their families.

This card is for her, specifically.  In addition to her, this card is for all those struggling with health issues, be they physical, emotional, both. And most importantly, this card is for everyone.  Because you see, we're all in this together.  When one human being is suffering we are all suffering.  Whether we know this person or not.  In knowing this we must all strive to make our lives better with regard to this.

What we do does not have to be BIG.  What we need to do is something that is intended to improve the life of another.  A smile, a helping hand, an acknowledgement of others.

With that said, I'm sharing this card with YOU.  You are special, you are cared about and you are important.

Let's build on #SaraDouglass's plea to #makeacardsendacard.  I'll list below the ingredients for this card, if you would like to replicate it.

Sincerely,

Tammie

Colorful Seasons Meets Embossing

If you've been following my posts you'll recognize the background on this card.  If not, check in my previous post to learn how I did this.  Also, the impression left on the embossed area of this card is done by embossing several layers of gold embossing powder and while the final layer is still hot and slightly liquid I used my stamp to impress the greeting.

Here are the ingredients and measurements of this card. Check out my video below as I talk you through what I did.

Card base: Whisper White cardstock (100730) 8 1/2" X 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Layers: Glossy cardstock (144240) 3" X 4" and 4" X 5 1/4"-previously decorated with the baby          wipe technique (see previous video)
Inks: Versamark (102283)
Embossing Powder: Gold (109129)
Embellishments: Metallic Gold Ribbon (144146)- Approximately 16"
Stamp Bundle: Colorful Seasons (145348)
Adhesives: Dimensionals (104430), Foam Adhesive Strips (141825), Glue Dots (103683),                  Fast Fuse (129026)
Tools: Big Shot (143263), Heat Tool (129053)

Merry Patterns Host Set by Stampin' Up!

Contact me today to schedule your party!!

Ink Refills Rock for Backgrounds

Creating a background is so easy when you use these products...
Glossy Cardstock and Ink Refills...oh, and a baby wipe.
That's it!  It's super simple and takes no time at all to create something beautiful and unique. The ingredients for my card are as follows:

Whisper White Cardstock (for card base) cut 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4"(100730)

Whisper White Cardstock (for greeting)- use scrap that's at least 2 1/2" square.

Early Espresso Cardstock (for mat) cut 2 1/4" square (119686)

Early Espresso Cardstock scrap that's large enough to cut 2 leaves and the branch shown.

You can cut your piece of Glossy White Cardstock 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"(144240) if you're only making one card or you can stamp a piece of 8 1/2" X 11" so you'll have enough for 4 cards or a larger project, if you want.

The colors of Ink Refills I used are Cherry Cobbler(119788), Pumpkin Pie(105229), Daffodil Delight(119672), Old Olive(100531) and Cajun Craze(119790).

The ink pad I used for the greeting is Early Espresso Classic Ink (126974)

I dotted the ink onto a baby wipe and then thumped this onto the glossy cardstock.  Set this aside to dry while you work on your greeting and leaf embellishments.

I fell in love with the Color Theory Suite in the catalog (pgs 146-147) so I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits (143751) for the leaves and branch.

For the adhesives I used the Fast Fuse (129026) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755).

Check out my video below for the details...

Painted Harvest is Christmas Too

I love when a stamp set can be purposed for more than its original intent. Check out the wreath made with the same stamp we used for the sunflower in an earlier video😁Oh, and the colors I used were wild wasabi and real red.

Faux Metal

I love this technique!  I've made buckles, buttons, tags and all sorts of things using this method.  It really adds a pop of wow to projects!
